Happy Birthday!!

to Alexis and me!!

I can't believe she's the same age as me!! XD

Well, when I got into class, a couple of my friends wished me happy birthday which made me feel so loved.
After class, Jane popped by with a cake for the both of us!
And my ex-housemates bought me a brownie and a card!! ^____^ Well, Gibson came by this morning with two potential housemates. I asked him about the misunderstanding and he was like, "ah.. don't bother about that!" maybe he didn't realize the situation .___. but hey, that made me heaps better. I finally moved everything... and my quilt is MISSING!! *gasp*
The previous tenants must have taken it!!
Also my traveller's adaptor plug and my soap bar holder!! >=(
The nerve of those people!
Now my soap bar has nothing to rest in!!

Speaking of evil doings..
Yesterday, while Sheng Yee and I were walking in the mall, this dude ran past us with blood stained tissues held up to his ear. These two other men were chasing him. One had a bottle in his hand and was swinging it about. I was terrified that he would break it to slice the dude up.
Right there, they cornered him with him shouting out, "Look, there are cops here alright!!" trying to discourage them but they weren't fooled. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on the situation), he managed to dodge them but in doing so, nearly ran back into us!! ARGH!!
He threw the rolled up tissues and legged it with the men tailing behind him.

Who said Adelaide was safe?? @___@

Pre-birthday blues

I feel as if though I’m suffocating.

The past few days have been a whirlwind. At first everything seemed peachy and wonderful. Gibson turned on the electricity for me and he told me to settle in before coming to the office on Monday. Sweet, huh?

So I settled in… I scrubbed the place clean because it’s really filthy.

Did I mention about the two quilts that hung in the garage’s clothes line with pubic hair almost every inch of them?

Yes. Filthy.

The carpet needs cleaning and the walls were marked with prints and smudges.
I wanted the place to look presentable in order to lure possible housemates in but it was all in vain.

On Monday, I went to the office but Gibson wasn’t present so someone else dealt with me.
Big mistake. They called me up this morning and said that there has been a misunderstanding.
Initially, I wanted to sign under one contract so that the place would be a lot cheaper so Gibson gave me time to find a housemate.

Problem 1: I haven’t secured a tenant for the middle room yet.

Problem 2: No one else is around to sign the contract so the whole place would be under my name, which meant I had to pay for the bonds and rent whether I have housemates or not.

Problem 3: I have to pay for the rent of February which was not what I expected. Soo Hui told me that they only charge you from the moment you arrive. So that meant I would have to pay $600 for the middle room and will continue to pay until I find a housemate.
The only way to fish me out of the problems was to sign a separate contract which meant I have to fork out an extra $80 or so per month but I no longer have the task of finding another housemate.

Gibson probably wants to choke me to death.

I feel pretty bad now.
I didn’t think things would turn out this way.

They also wanted Soo Hui to pay immediately which doesn’t make much sense to me. Even if she wired the money, it’ll take a couple of days and she’s returning Thursday!

I’m just hoping that they’ll sort everything out on Thursday. And not make us pay the rent of the middle room!!

What a great way to start my birthday, huh? With a dejected heart and worries swarming in my head. There’s only an hour left before it strikes midnight and here I am, sitting alone in my room with its barren walls as we’re not allowed to stick anything onto the walls, not even bluetac.

So is this what turning 20 is like?

Wide open road ahead with a clear blue sky hanging above. Yet somehow lightning strikes before your eyes, scorching an innocent daisy that just happened to be opening up its petals to receive the new day, leaving you weak as the ground rumbles of thunder.

I’m being pessimistic, you say?

I know life is a beautiful thing and that obstacles make us stronger but tonight I just want to sit in the corner and sulk.

Depression is sinking in big time.
I hate leaving my family.
It always sucks.

I can't believe it.
In less than 24 hours, I'm going to be sitting in the Bruneian airport waiting to board my plane to Singapore.
There I would have to wait 9 hours before I get onto a flight to Adelaide.

I heard a lot of people are leaving on Friday to head to Australia as well so I supposed I won't be the only sad depressed little girl sitting in the corner.

Well, I might actually.

Anyho, 'Heroes' is quite addictive isn't it?
I didn't it was all that great at first because Star World was constantly going on and on about "the no.1 rated TV series in the US, etc, etc, etc, etc"

What happened to Gray's Anatomy?
Or Desperate Housewives?

The 'Heroes' rave would die out just like the rest of them but for now, it's pretty darn good.

I've watched all 15 episodes in the last couple days and I WANT MORE!! *deranged glazed look*

It's only like episode 5 on Star World but did anyone notice the symbol on the computer when Mohinder's running the DNA sequence??
The symbol is probably the unique DNA sequence that they all share.. or something.

The Piggy Wiggy Year

Ahhh.. The Eve brings families together with a big meal, a lot of catching up and hopefully good laughs.
There's also the never ending silbing rivarly where you watch your parents try to hide a smile when they realize you have greater achievements more than your cousins.
It's annoying but hey, we're Chinese.
That's what Chinese people do.

And every year my dad would buy tons and tons of fireworks to compete with our neighbours. Even before the clock strikes twelve, people would try to outdo each other with a gorgeous display of fireworks.
My mom would enjoy them but she'd secretly glare at my dad for spending so much money that'd just go up into a beautiful puff of smoke, brilliant lights and a big bang.
Again. Chinese people.
Don't you just love them?? xD

Oh joy.

Chinese New Year is fast approaching but I'm rather depressed.
It's because I have to head back and this time, I'm going to have quite an obstacle.
Since it's a brand new apartment, I'll have to get an electricity account and it'll take about three working days for the electricity!!
Three working days!!
And I'm arriving on a Saturday

This will be fun.

And no home internet for about a month?
Installation takes forever.

Being old isn't easy

Why is it whenever you’re watching someone out there doing something inspiring, you feel like nothing’s going to stop you either but that feeling just fades with time?

I watched this movie on HBO called ‘My date with Drew’. It’s about this average guy Brian who decided to do a documentary about trying to get a date with Drew Barrymore within 30 days.
I tuned in about midway into the movie and thought, “wow… what a loser!”
It was a tough journey for him and within minutes, I was rooting for him though I was still thinking, “Geez… what a loser…”

He seems like a genuinely sweet guy though a little geeky so you couldn’t help but like him!

And you know what? He did get his date with Drew Barrymore and I was really happy for him.
Anyway after watching the show, I was inspired to do something.

No, I’m not going to do a documentary called ‘My date with Yunho’ though… it seems pretty tempting =D

I was just sitting there and thinking, “I’m turning twenty soon. What have I done in my life so far? What have I achieved so far?”

Well, nothing fantastic.
I haven’t bungee jumped off the Empire State building nor have I ever been on TV, well, except for that one time that I walked purposely behind a news reporter in Adelaide and that time when they caught Chow Mei and I in Dong Bang Shin Ki’s concert. *cringe*

But I’m pretty happy with things.
My life may not be exciting or glamorous but there’s always something that’s going to happen; may it be good or bad.
I have exactly two weeks before I’m heading back to Adelaide. I’m thrilled about it yet saddened too. But life goes on and I must too.
For now, I’m really enjoying spending time with my family at home. I realized that I’m more of a homebody than an outgoing one. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy going out but there’s nothing like relaxing at home and having you to yourself.
I’m getting old, aren’t I?

The Boy from Brunei

I posted an ad in gumtree about a housemate wanted yesterday and I got two replies~!! YAY for internet!! One’s from France and the other’s from Germany :D
Let’s pray that one of them will become my housemate if Yee doesn’t want the room.

Oh, you all have heard about the boyband Fahrenheit right?

A couple years ago when people started talking about a Bruneian boy becoming a star, I was like all MEHHHH…
Well, I’m still a little MEHH…
I WILL NOT GIVE INTO TO FANGIRLDOM!! Even though I’m a fangirl of DBSK’s .____.

That’s not the point.
Anyway, I steered away from them.....
But my brother being a big fan of S.H.E’s… I heard the song where they collaborated with Hebe of S.H.E and it’s quite catchy.
My mom's quite proud of him. She's all like, "That's him!! That's him!!" when he was on TV the other day. I don't know whether to laugh or cry..

I will NOT GIVE IN!!

They’re a good-looking band, yes.
but I will not become one of those girls that swoon, "Ooooo Fahrenheit~" with ogle-y eyes. I only do that to Yunho.

Anyway, if anyone’s interested, someone listed down their blogs (I didn't ask for then. I just stumbled upon them. I swear!!)
Anyho, his name is Wu Chun and he’s a pretty boy :)

^looks a little like Daniel Wu here o__O

The Land of Prancing Elves

There's so many interesting shows on TV that I just glues me onto my seat. Is it me or has my flab gotten flabbier? If there's such a word.

The other day I was talking to Sharon and I realized that I haven't watched MTV or Nickelodeon in ages~ I must be growing into an adult!! GASP~!
So I watched MTV and there was Punk'd on!
Ashton's quite a hottie, no?? :D

If I had a list of 'hottest men' like a certain someone I know, he'd be.. oh... no.12 maybe?

And the hottest??

Oh u-know who~ xD

Speaking of which, it's

Yup!! Yunho's birthday today! ^^

Yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

Back to MTV, I watched an episode of Boiling Points and there's one where this guy is in line in a grocery store and paid items worth $5.11 with coins!
The people next in line were so frustrated except for this one lady who patiently stood there with a smile on her face.
He tried to irritate her by accidentally dropping all the coins while counting and had to start ALL OVER again but she just stood there smiling.
He asked her to help him and she did. With a smile on her face!!
When he was short of 79 cents, he accused her of stealing it. She denied it but wasn't offended.

Maybe she was a saint or something.

On the other hand, another girl told him off within 4 minutes when he started counting his coins in a retarded manner.

Anyho, they have a special episode where they went to Malaysia~!!
I'm hoping that they'll go to Adelaide, they'll never come to Brunei, I don't swear so it'll be pretty hard to eliminate me unless of course I just leave or something.

The Amazing Race Asia

I used to love the Amazing Race. But when the Amazing Race Asia happened, I wasn’t bother about it. I told myself that I was too tired to chase after the contestants and had enough of the suspense.
I steered myself away from it until I was surfing channels and the host Allan Wu caught my eye… for about 10 seconds.
He’s sorta cute, no?

That particular episode had 4 teams left and I was rooting for everyone except Sandy and Fran-something. They seemed to powerful, I wanted them to lose =D

I pitied Marty and Mario, one of them said that he wasn’t allowed to eat internal organs but was forced to eat brains!! Eww! And they lost in that episode too!

Anyway, I was hooked after that but then the affair ended abruptly because I had just watched the last episode!
I was running around in circles, trying to burn off the anticipation as they slowly unveiled the winners. When Zabrina and Joe Jer won, I almost cried!!

ARGH! I am getting too old for this!

They are the first all-female group to win the race! I was so proud of them even though I watched barely three episodes. *sniffle*

Anyway, I always thought Sharon and I would make good partners if we were ever to go onto Amazing Race but you know what? We’d be hopelessly lost within 2 hours of the race. Unless we flirt with some of the other contestants or pay them to let us tag along with them. That’s allowed, right?
