Blogger Template Woes

After a year of contemplating on whether to switch 'classic' blogger to the 'new' blogger (with limited templates), I decided to do it, thinking that it would be so much easier to manipulate each section, frame, etc

But I was so wrong.

My twitter section doesn't load up everytime, and I have no idea what happened to my nuffnang and adsense ads!!

It was supposed to be easier!!!

Or maybe I am just really dense at using it??

And to think that I used to be fairly good with html... I even had my own website for a while.

Am going to have to look around for some help floating around the internet.. otherwise I will revert back to the classic blogger.

Rant over.

Cute pegs

So right after yesterday's rant, I went on a hunt and came home with these!!

I bought some cute colour pegs, some flower rhinestones, candy-coloured beads, some ribbons and of course, good old PVA craft glue! :D

The most creative person has the messiest work table. True? True that.

Not long after the glue has dried!! I've made these cute little clip-ons!

Not original and very amateurish but they make me so happy!!

One for my memo pad ♥

 Shopping List ♥

To Do List ♥

I used a card for an example but if you join multiple pegs together on a piece of string, like that of a normal clothesline, you can hang small cards or photos in a similar fashion ^O^

I'm currently looking for fruits and bows decorations to add to my collection :3

Oh and um, before I forget, Happy Australia Day tomorrow!! :D

I feel like I'm losing my creativity.

It's been so long since I've lost myself in sketching. I have not done anything decent recently... they are just half-hearted unfinished works.

I have this sudden urge to splatter paint madly over a canvas. Perhaps I'm holding up a lot inside and I don't even realize it.

Although I'm generally content with how my life is, there are occasions where I find myself questioning things and the direction I'm heading. Perhaps I'm suffering from mild episodes of the "mid-twenties crisis" in my early twenties.

Where am I heading? What's the big picture?

I really can't answer those.

I find comfort in my art. A brief escape from reality.

I know.. I know.. escaping from reality isn't a solution to any problem, but more often than not, I emerge with a refreshed state of mind, and am able to see things from a different perspective :)

Alright, I'm heading out and am going to get some art supplies :)

Grey Storm

Am so excited! Can't wait for my first pair of coloured contacts to arrive.

Am getting the colour and pattern "grey storm" from Clearly Colors (comfort curve)

I hear that European made coloured-contacts aren't as natural looking as Asian made ones?
Am planning to get Korean-made coloured contacts too.

I know I'm supposed to be saving.....

I'm also going to enjoy my life!! :D

Hong Kong Business Trip 1

Just got back from Hong Kong last night!
It's good to be home!
And as promised,  PICTURES!!

 Super tall buildings!

 Gorgeous nightlife!

 more buildings! @.@

So much lights that it hurts my eyes!!

Sunday was my only day off so I ventured to Causeway Bay by myself!! :D

 In Times Square

Am amazed at the sheer number of people on the streets!

Managed to snap these pictures while on the train!

 Subway :)

 In the very nice apartment!

We're on the 14th floor? It doesn't look that bad in the picture but I was terrified!!
I managed to take this photo an arm's length away from the window LOL

There is a sale going on but not everything is cheap!! I bought several cheap items but also some expensive stuff. I regret bringing only A$300 with me... definitely not enough!! But in a way, it's good... since I'm a impulse buyer T.T

It was a bit chilly in HK and all I brought was one jacket.. which wasn't enough. I wasn't really looking for anything, let alone a coat but when I saw this trench coat, I knew that I had to get it. The colour was so eye-catching and it keeps me all nice and warm!
I purchased it for HK499 (~A$70) which I consider cheap for a coat!!!
Best thing I bought from Hong Kong!

Looks navy blue here but is actually a teal-like colour

Also bought this cute red beanie for less than A$10!

Again, the trench coat looks very blue here. Also bought an orange dress with at least 5 zippers (so cool!! Bought it for about A$14), and a sweet green cardigan with a soft black ribbon belt around the waist (can't be seen in the pic) for my housemate!

Got this sweet floral dress in a korean/japanese boutique store.Super expensive at HK663 (~A$95) but the quality is sooooo good, it's actually quite heavy and super soft! I heart heart heart it sooooo much!

Also bought a pair of dark purple boots! ^O^
Didn't take a photo and am too lazy to do it. Sorry.... u_u

I'm so glad that they have Sasa EVERYWHERE in HK. I purchased a few items from before and it felt so surreal to be in an actual Sasa store! :D
I bought several random items from Sasa.. such as this cute compact mirror!

I think it's so pretty!

Two pairs of false eyelashes! I totally love false eyelashes!
*Also an eyelash curler but not pictured here

A cute duck shower cap! HAHAHA!

And this!! Sponge hair curlers made to look like strawberries!! You wrap your hair in it before you sleep, and when you wake up, you have curly hair!!
Don't know how well it works yet. Will try it out soon! :D

Also bought this mini cup garden where you can grow basil in (soil and basil seeds provided), for my housemate! :D

I regret buying only one. I want one too!! Will go and buy another when I return to HK.

Oh, I'm heading back there on the 5th of February for a stem cell conference.
Heh heh heh! Can't wait to shop somemore! :)

Greetings from Hong Kong

It's 8pm. I am currently curling up next to a halogen heater, sipping hot tea and have some random Korean show on (dubbed in mandarin)

I can't believe I'm leaving tomorrow! I'm getting quite comfortable here in Hong Kong.

Amanda's apartment is quite nice, a bit small but classy. Unfortunately for me, she left for Shanghai after spending only a day and a half in Hong Kong with me. So most of the time, I was alone T_T
Fortunately, everyone in the HK clinic was very nice and friendly. I almost feel pampered working here!!

The food taste pretty good! Even vegetarian food! I wonder what they put in there that makes it so tasty?

Shopping is great! I already blew A$300. YIKES! But I think I got good value for all the items I've bought!! I even ventured to Causeway Bay by myself using the train. *proud* I am damm adventurous, man...

Will upload pictures of my purchases and of beautiful Hong Kong soon!
I dare not upload too many pictures using my boss's internet :P

Hong Kong, here I come! ♥

At first I wasn't thrilled when I found out that I had to go to Hong Kong to set up the lab there and train some of the staff members but I'm starting to feel a little excited!

I have been practising my cantonese.. which is horrendous! (And well, still pretty much unintelligible)
I used to watch Hong Kong dramas as a child so I understand a fair bit of cantonese........ sigh.
Thank goodness, most people in HK can speak English!!

Anyho, I'm leaving on Wednesday.
Today is Monday and I have not packed yet.

Fortunately I've written down a list of things I'll be bringing.

I still don't believe I'm actually going. *pinches self*
OOOOOOOOooo I can't wait to shop!! :D

Hong Kong, here I come! ♥

I don't actually have any new year resolutions this year.. which is rather odd.
I'm quite content with how things are.

Well, I could be more active and go out more often but ah well... I guess I've come to terms that I do not have the perseverance to keep any resolutions.

I hope everyone had a good new year's :)
I enjoyed a quiet night with Josh. We initially planned to go watch the fireworks in the city with Rudi and maybe a friend's sis but it didn't work out as a massive thunderstorm unleashed its fury at 9pm on New Year's Eve and lingered till well past midnight.
After that, no one seemed too excited to go out and wait under the rain. Plus Rudi was already falling sick.

Oh well, hopefully the weather next year will be better :)

The year 2009 was a very eventful year for me.

I might even say that I had my fair share of struggles.
Sometimes things looked so bleak that I no longer had the strength to fight it.

I felt like I was alone, and that no one could help me.

Naturally, I was just consumed by self-pity.

Now that I look back, I realized that I had a lot of help from the people who loved me.
Without their encouragement, I doubt that I was able to find my feet again.

With renewed strength, I was able to turn my life around.
I moved to Melbourne to gain some work experience; a move many would consider as reckless and stupid.
You'll never know what can happen if you don't take your chances.

I'm very glad I did.

I don't know what would have become of me if I had never left Adelaide. It doesn't mean that I wouldn't be able to sort my life. I could very well be as happy as I am right now. Who knows?

To me, life as it is can only get more interesting.

I'm ready for you, 2010.

Bring it on.
